De informatiehuishouding van een organisatie wordt steeds complexer. Met technologische hoogstandjes probeert men daar een kant-en-klare oplossing voor te bieden. Vele van deze projecten mislukken omdat men nagelaten heeft een informatie-audit te maken. Voorbeelden leiden ons tot deze informatie-audit die uitmondt in een “informatiekaart” : een schema dat inzicht biedt in de informatiebehoeften, -stromen en -opslag in een organisatie.
